Presentation of Prof. Dr. Cr istina Mart inez-Fernandez

Mining regions experience both the boom and bust of economic development through cycles of growth and shrinking thrived by changes of international mineral markets, policies that restrict mining exploration, changes in company structure and organisation and demographic change. The management of labour markets is probably one of the most difficult challenges
for these cities both in times of prosperity and decline. This presentation discusses skills and employment strategies in mining regions in Australia, Europe, Asia, North and South America.
